Stokes Bay Campground
Details
Located metres from ‘Australia’s Best Beach in 2023’, Stokes Bay campground is a popular family-friendly and shady campsite with basic amenities. The popular spot is home to a sheltered swimming ‘pool’ with excellent fishing and surfing. The nearby beach is perhaps best known for its ‘hidden’ experience as visitors follow the track and walk through caves to a pleasant surprise when arriving at the picturesque main beach. The campground offers a nearby seasonal café, BBQ facilities and public toilets. It is 20 minutes from the small service township of Parndana for fuel, basic supplies, a pub and cafes, and is 35 minutes via unsealed road or 42 minutes via sealed roads from Kingscote. Stokes Bay is also one of the best places on the island to see the island’s kangaroos at all times of the day. Like most of the island, take care when driving at dawn or dusk.
Although not at the camping ground, BBQ facilities are available off the day carparking area.
Please note internet connectivity in this area is poor, so booking in advance is strongly advised.
