Kangaroo Island Distillery produces a regular line of 5 gins, 2 vodka and 3 liqueurs with a stream of bespoke, limited edition or seasonal products constantly in a state of creation. Operating on a small rural property just out of Kingscote, the Cellar door and Distillery is a popular place to visit and experience immersive gin tastings and guided experiences as well as Kangaroo Island hospitality. Kangaroo Island Spirits is a favoured brand and identity in many leading bars, independent bottleshops and hospitality businesses in South Australia and beyond. Always mindful of humble beginnings Kangaroo Island Spirits is actively involved in many charity and sponsorship events, taking the opportunity to share knowledge of craft spirit.

The Origins of Kangaroo Island Spirits
Among Kangaroo Island’s untouched cliffs and beaches, Australia’s first gin distillery stands. A distillery that proudly bears the name Kangaroo Island Spirits. This island’s ecosystem offers up botanicals that set the stage for distilling the very essence and spirit of this unique place. Spirits that are traditionally crafted and cleverly balanced to infuse the character that the land offers.
The new distillery was opened in February 2022, and is set within beautifully landscaped gardens filled with native botanicals which will allow increased production capacity. We have also just installed a 4500l whisky still, making Kangaroo Island Spirits the largest whisky distillery in South Australia. The upgrade has also provided increased space for experiences and endless seats positioned around our beautiful gin garden.
The Kangaroo Island Spirits team is in it for the character of the Kangaroo Island Spirits lifestyle, the passion for inclusion (which includes sharing ideas) and being creative with botanicals.

The Experience:
We pride ourselves on our Island hospitality, where everyone is made to feel welcome. When you step through the door of Kangaroo Island Spirits, you step into the heart and soul of our boutique distillery. The aromas from the production area flow through to the new experiences room, and you know you are stepping into a genuine distillery.

We encourage our products to speak for themselves by offering a range of ways to engage. This includes everything from a cheeky cocktail list, and self-guided tasting paddles to fully immersive experiences such as Gin Blending Master Classes, cocktail making and premium tastings and tours. Our experienced staff are delighted to talk about our products and how best to enjoy them. Our tranquil Gin Garden is a lovely place to enjoy a G&T, a cocktail or light refreshments from our onsite food van.

The cellar door at Cygnet River is open to visitors for tasting, bottle sales, experiences and light refreshments 7 days a week.
