Allora is the Italian word for affection and fittingly named when the house was built by JD Connolly and offered as a gift from the owner to his future wife as an engagement present.
Allora house was built between 1897 and 1940. The guest enjoy the fully renovated 1940s area of 3 queen size bedrooms all connected to the shared lounge and dining room. The kitchenette and bathroom also can be accessed from the shared space. We have restored to area with handmade jarrah doors, high ceilings, antique furniture from the period 1900 to 1940s styles.
Please note Allora house does not provide breakfast, though there is a well equipped kitchenette and a supermarket a block away from us. The kitchenette is modern and well appointed, with microwave, sink, kettle, toaster, iron, ironing board, cutlery, crockery, full size fridge, cutting board, cupboard storage for your groceries, knives, bottle opener, salad bowl, etc to enjoy making your meals and your stay.
Each bedroom has a flat screen TV, reverse cycle air conditioning and modern ensemble bed to accompany restored furniture sympathetic to the period of the house. We have been fortunate, sourcing furniture that spent its life in the Goldfields. our linen is Australian made a sustainably produced.
Our lounge/dining area has a chaise lounge, lounge suite, full size TV and sound system, coffee table, and a dining table with 4 chairs. The lounge/dining area overlooks the garden, we have a wide veranda opening onto a sheltered garden. We have heritage plants, seasonal herbs and vegetables to enjoy as a backdrop. Lovely to watch the changes of season within the garden. Relaxing in antique folding chairs and garden benches.
